SANA Fest

SANA Fest is an annual event organised by HERSANA CIC to commemorate our anniversary and highlight a need to curate spaces by and for Black femmes everywhere. This year, on June 1, 2024, HERSANA will be commemorating our fourth anniversary and the second SANA Fest at the Battersea Art Centre. Last year, we had the immense pleasure of hosting Black Femmes at our inaugural SANA Fest, a true highlight of our journey. Building on the energy of surviving and healing from that incredible event, we are eagerly anticipating making this year's SANA Fest even more extraordinary, in community with Black femmes and allies.

This year's SANA Fest, themed "In Community, We Flourish: A Black Femme Grounding to Eradicate Gender Based Violence", focuses on strengthening Black Femme communities, fostering partnerships within the advocacy sector, and building lasting relationships to enhance growth and impact. We envision a festival grounded in community principles, with a strong emphasis on the representation of Black Femmes in the fight against Gender Based Violence.

No. The SANA Fest created by and for Black femmes is open to allies (all), willing to and ready to learn about violence against Black femmes, and how they can create and maintain safe spaces with and for Black femmes.

Battersea Arts Centre is a step-free venue where the first floor is accessed via a lift. All event spaces have step-free access. Most lifts can be operated by anyone who needs them.

The Wellbeing Space will provide a comfortable, safe place for anyone to take a break from the event, to reach out for support, or to access information. You are welcome to drop in at any point for a rest or a friendly chat.

No. While we encourage you experience the different parts of our very exciting festival; we have shared the agenda so you can select what parts excite you to attend.
