HERSANA is a leading expert on violence against femmes and the experiences of Black femmes affected by or at risk of gender-based violence, staffed by specialists in the field. Our culturally competent training packages, developed in consultation with survivors, challenge unexamined beliefs and practices, equip participants to act confidently with impact and centre the lived realities of Black femme survivors. Our training invites attendees to understand the cultural nuances and barriers Black femmes face when seeking justice, advocacy and support. Using a Black feminist intersectional lens, our courses are interdisciplinary, thought-provoking and honour Black femmes’ experiences at every stage for a meaningful, forward-thinking approach.
