This 2.5 hour course, designed by HERSANA looks at the definition, prevalence and nature of gender-based violence (GBV), including domestic abuse, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation and trafficking, female genital mutilation/cutting and other strands.

This session gives people the skills to recognise and challenge misogynistic behaviour in their everyday life as well as empower them take a safe and active stand against discrimination.

  • Increase knowledge and awareness on the different types of abusive behaviours

  • Gain a better understanding of the prevalence and nature of GBV

  • Gain a better understanding around the risks and indicators of abuse

  • Gain a better understanding on the physical and psychological impacts of GBV

  • How to empathetically and nonjudgmentally respond to disclosures

This course is designed for anyone who would like to find out more about the various strands of gender-based violence (GBV), their prevalence in England & Wales and what to do if an incident is disclosed.

There are various dates and times for sessions. Please book for the session you would like to join and session details will be emailed to participants ahead of the workshop. Spaces are very limited so please cancel if you are no longer able to make the session so that your ticket can be released to another participant.
